choose joy has been a life-motto for a few years now. choose health is a motto i picked up last spring, when i decided it was time to stop focusing on what i weighed and instead, focus on eating well and being active. this year, i'm choosing three new things as well. love, focus and peace. the meanings of my choices always become clearer as time progresses, but for the moment, here is what they mean to me. choosing love means stepping back from judgments, supporting people, and accepting someone's differences with grace instead of with skepticism or criticism. choosing focus is a personal challenge to keep my mind on the present situation, whether that be work or a conversation. choosing peace is a commitment to changing what i can, and letting go of what things i cannot, or should not change.
